Webinar Series | “Bridging the Gap: Academics and Practitioners in Sustainable Finance” (3/5)
The aim of this webinar series is to build a bridge between academic research and practitioners in the field of sustainable finance. The idea is that a researcher presents findings from sustainable finance studies, which are then discussed by practitioners, particularly with regard to their practical application.
The webinar series is exclusively designed for employees of member institutions. Participation is free of charge.
Content
To understand the ESG backlash, we need to unpack responsible investing’s complicated relationship to values. With the rise of ESG investing, responsible investing increasingly silenced values. While this contributed to the mainstreaming of responsible investing, it also enabled the ESG backlash. These ideas are part of a book project on which our speaker Emilio Marti, Associate Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, is working with Fabrizio Ferraro from IESE Business School.
